RIDING THE WHITE CLOUD
Just south of the Great Smoky Mountains lies a hidden horseback riding adventure. The Unicoi Mountains are part of Southern Appalachia's Blue Ridge Mountain Range.
The Range remains one of the most primitive, undeveloped areas in the eastern United States. Much of it is protected as part of the Cherokee National Forest in Tennessee and Nantahala National Forest in North Carolina. The name "Unicoi" comes from the Cherokee word ᎤᏁᎦ (unega), which means "white." The term refers to the low-lying clouds and fog that often drape the mountains in the early morning or on humid days. Come ride the White Cloud with us, Cherokee Trail Riding (LLC), and experience a truly wild place. |
